Mizoram Can See Economic Growth Through Natural Resources : Zoramthanga

AIZAWL : Zoramthanga, the chief minister of Mizoram stated that the state has a great potential in strengthening their economic growing through its natural resources.

During the closing ceremony of the Tualte tomato festival that took place on the 25th of October 2022, Zoramthanga talked about the natural resources that the state owns and how it can help in their economic prosperity. The farmers were encouraged to start the production of tomato by-products which has good longevity and gets a better market outreach. 

Zoramthanga assured that the government would reach out to the farmers needs and requirements and provide them with all the possible resources that is needed in the process of production. According to Zoramthanga, people in the Mizoram government are trying their best to expand the marketing and selling of tomatoes in markets both inside as well as outside the state . 

" Mizoram is blessed with economic molecules and if this molecule is activated it can do great things. We need to harness the strength of our potentiality and produce as much as possible" said Zoramthanga.

Deputy chief minister, Tawnluia who was also present in the ceremony, said that the state's top most priority right now is to help the farmers become economically self-dependent. This would help the state get rid of poverty, increase economic and make a position in the globalized world. All the officials praised the farmers of Tualte area in Khawzawl district for their hard work during the occasion.

"One of the best way of uplifting the economy of the state is that we help each other and buy our own local products rather than choosing outside products" said Tawnluia.

Tomato plantation began in the Tualte area in the year 2019. This year more than 230 families have cultivated tomatoes according Tualte Tomato Growing Cooperative Society chairmen R Lalchhanchhuaha. The tomato festival was a week long this year where along with other activities, tomato ketchups were being manufactured in bulk by the localists.
